When to Go
May is the perfect time to visit the Costa del Sol when the crowds are thinner, and the weather is just right. Warm sea breezes blow throughout the summer, giving the region the nickname, Costa del Viento (windy coast). Summertime is the perfect season for sunbathing and sightseeing, with little or no rain. The majority of rainfall occurs from October to March.

Fast Facts
In 2012, the town of Estepona commissioned artists to paint elaborate murals on the sides of its charming whitewashed buildings. Some of their incredible artwork includes La Venus, based on the town’s historic La Venus de Estepona, Aires de Música, marking the Estepona Symphony Orchestra’s 75th anniversary, and the mural, Día de Pesca, painted across six different apartment walls to commemorate the importance of fishing in this region.
The Andalucia region and Costa del Sol offers a paradise of culinary riches. It is one of Spain’s most important wine regions with myriad hilltop vineyards.
