Overview
Expect traditional Croatian hospitality in an unconventional and quirky city vibe. From the red-roofs sprinkled with church spires, cobblestone splendor, to the concrete walls transformed into colorful street-artist murals, the largest Croatian city is ideal for strolling.
What To See
Street Cafés. Boasting a foodie and café culture, Zagreb overflows with craft coffee cafes. Coffee (“kava” in Croatian) drinkers sit and sip rather than grab a quick cup on the go. Barhop along the hipster Opatovina Street and immerse in the city's craft beer scene as well.
Lotrščak Tower. Once the main city fort, for over 110 years the cannon fires from atop the tower everyday (exactly at noon) in memory of an historic event. Take in 360-degree views of the city from within.
Museum of Broken Relationships. A quirky display of the human condition featuring left over mementos after a relationship ends.
Mirogoj. One of the most beautiful cemeteries in Europe with monumental arches and the final resting place for writers, poets and composers who successfully imposed the Croatian language.
Croatian Museum of Naïve Art. A display of major works of Croatia's homegrown art genre.
Katarinin Trg. Soak in one of the best views towards the Cathedral from this square also home to Zagreb’s most famous street art.
Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Soaring over the city are the 13th-century twin spires and inside, the ornate marble alters, statues and tomb are a must-see.
